These are my most recent records - (I just realized that I'm letting everyone see how much I weigh, but it's too late to start being conscious;;) I did forget to mention that you should keep the time constant whenever you step on that scale - I weigh myself right after I wake up (also because you weigh the least in the morning) Although you can't see the differences because it's a slow (and healthy) process over other extreme dieting, you'll know when you slip on those pants/dresses that you couldn't fit into before :) |
Now, back to the main topic - this is one of the most important 'tips', and will save you a lot of calories if you can keep up a good habit. As my daily limit is ~ 1100 calories, I usually allow myself 300 calories for breakfast/lunch, and 400 calories for dinner. It's very important that you also keep a constant meal schedule (that fits to your convenience) and that you don't eat more than three meals per day! And that means snacking. Did you ever think twice about the chips, pop, juice, or the candy that you eat between meals? Well, now's the time to become conscious of them! A bottle of pop can vary between 250-350 calories, and each potato chip is approx. 10 calories! After 3 handfuls, and you easily consume ~300 calories - if you add up every little snack you consume, it's surprisingly enormous! So here are a few advice to help you cut down, whether by getting rid of your snacking habits, or by replacing the things you like snacking on: |
4. Snack on fruit or vegetables Apples are my favourite, as they're low in calories, delicious, and provides fiber! If you have vegetables you don't really like, feel free to dip them in tiny amounts of nmayonnaise (like celery, or carrot sticks) 5. Prevent yourself from snacking Let's admit, we love snacking even when our stomachs are full - simply because our 'mouths are bored'! Try brushing your teeth, or chew on gum after your meals. Even having something for your lips to play with is effective too (like an unused hair clip, headphone wires, etc.) | 1. Beware of Low-Fat Snacks Don't be tricked by the 'low-fat' label! It's only ~11% lower in calories, tastes bad, and you'll end up eating more of it - thinking that you're saving on calories! 2. Portion your Snacks If you eat out of the bag/ package, your tastebuds are guaranteed to win over your willpower! Don't forget to put the snack back in the cabinet/ storage so that you'll perhaps feel 'too lazy' to reload your snack bowl 3. Replace your Drink Rather than pop, or even juice - replace it with coffee, tea, flavoured water or plain water if you're brave! If you ask me, I'd rather have tea with a whole meal than to drink a bottle of pop or juice! *** If all fails, at least try to check the calories on the snack package before you purchase it to make the better choice. Good luck! |
